114 more dengue cases emerge in Karachi

As many as 114 more dengue fever cases surfaced in Karachi in a day, taking the reported cases’ toll to 2,637 since January 1, 2019. According to the weekly report issued by the Prevention and Control Program for Dengue (PCPD) Sindh, at least 120 new dengue fever cases were reported across the Sindh province in a day, out of which 114 were detected in Karachi and six in other district. In September, a total of 1,257 dengue positive cases reported throughout the province out of which 1,201 happened in Karachi and 56 in other districts. In 2019, a total 2,759 dengue cases have been detected in Sindh so far out of them, 2,637 were in Karachi and 122 in other districts. A total of 11 people have died from dengue fever in Karachi this year so far.
