ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Sirajul Haq has said that Turkish leadership had set an excellent example of national development by controlling corruption.

He said that Turkey and Pakistan could jointly lead the Muslim world. He was speaking at a reception hosted in honour of the Chief Advisor of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at Mansoora, on Tuesday. Sirajul said that the failure of the recent coup in Turkey had sent a wave of jubilation among the Pakistani people as Turkey enjoyed a high position in the Muslim world for being the symbol of the Othman empire and the last seat of the caliphate.

The oppressed people all over the world considered Erdogan as their last hope. He said that Turkey and Pakistan both were Muslim countries and were linked together through eternal bonds of Islam and they could play an effective role in pulling the Muslim world out of the present anarchy and for the unity of the Ummah.

He said that Turkey’s rapid advance on the road to development under President Erdogan’s leadership reflected his political vision and exemplary planning skill and the entire Islamic world should learn from the Turkish experience. He said that Erdogan had emerged as the undisputed leader of the Turkish people and his position as a prudent Muslim leader was established.

He said that the people of Pakistan had great love and respect for their Turkish brethren and Turkish leadership and the sacrifices made by the Turkish people for the safeguarding their constitution and democratic set up were an example for the freedom loving people all over the world.

The Turkish President’s Chief Advisor Ilnur Cevik speaking on the occasion, lauded the services of the Jamaat-e-Islami, and said that the goal before Turkish Justice and Development Party and the Jamaat-e-islami, was the same. He also conveyed to the Siraj the good-wishes of the Turkish president.
