A delegation of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) including its members of provincial assembly (MPAs) and former health ministers visited the dengue patients in Lahore to inquire about their health and to have a look at the quality of treatment being given to the patients, on Monday.

According to details, the PML-N delegation that included MPA Azma Bukhari, former provincial health minister MPA Kh Imran Nazir, former state minister for health Saira Afzal and party’s Deputy Secretary General Atta Ullah Tarrar visited the dengue ward of Services Hospital to inquire about the patients. “Today we have come here to have a look at the treatment being given to the patients and arrangements in the dengue ward,” said MPA Azma Bukhari, while adding that Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar and Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid are responsible for the recent dengue outbreak.

“Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza has himself admitted that the cases of dengue have increased from 10,000 and it will be further increased in the month of October,” said Azma Bukhari. She further added that the provincial government was conveyed by the federal government through a letter in March that the dengue virus will increase, but still the provincial government did nothing to control the epidemic. She was of the view that Shehbaz Sharif is a success story, as he was able to control the dengue outbreak. This government too could have avoided the epidemic by only following the standard operating procedures (SOPs) prepared by the last government of PML-N in Punjab.
