Brazilian soccer player attacks referee after red card

Author: Agencies

RIO DE JANEIRO: A Brazilian soccer player will undoubtedly face a long ban after he attacked a referee in a third-division match this weekend. The player, who goes by Ferreira and plays for club Guarani, grew enraged after the referee handed him a red card for an elbow to the face of an opponent. He then ran up and cheap shotted the referee with a strong push, before opponents and his own teammates fought him back. Boa ended up winning the match 3-0. No word yet on a suspension for Ferreira.
