Heat wave continues to bake Karachi

Author: News Desk

A moderate heat wave is likely to continue in Karachi and the southern parts of Sindh for the next few days, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (Met) said on Sunday. According to the Met Office, the maximum temperature is likely to range between 39ºC to 41ºC during the next two days. Meanwhile, hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country, with rain expected in isolated areas of Kashmir. The heat wave in the city has been attributed to a low pressure, which has formed over the Arabian Sea that may persist for the next few days in the coastal city. The aggravating heat in the port city has compelled residents to remain indoors and avoid going out. The temperature reaching the maximum limit of 39ºC at noon came down to 36ºC by evening to offer little relief in terms of heat intensity.
