PCB to host Cricket Australia officials

Author: Staff Report

Cricket Australia’s (CA’s) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kevin Roberts and Head of Security Sean Carroll are scheduled to meet with the officials of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in Lahore. The PCB does not expect the current Prime Minister Imran Khan to be a part of these discussions. The meeting will mark the first time in a decade that a high-ranking delegation from Australia would arrive in Pakistan. The Australian side has not toured Pakistan in the last 20 years. PCB CEO Wasim Khan believes the meeting would build confidence between the two countries. “The visit by Kevin Robert will be the first high-level visit by a Cricket Australia delegation in more than a decade. The PCB is viewing this as an important visit as it will help in relationship and confidence building exercise between the two boards,” Wasim said, according to the Sydney Morning Herald. The CEO was hopeful that the meeting would provide first-hand experience for the Australian officials with regards to the security condition of the country. “The visit will help Kevin to have a first-hand look at ground realities, meeting local administration and, apart from assessing normal life here, get a better understanding of what cricket means in this part of the world,” he said. “The PCB is confident, following this trip, the bonding between the two boards will strengthen and we will continue to work hand in glove to ensure the sport continues to grow and thrive.”
