KARACHI: The Pakistan Boxing Council (PBC) is holding a first ever sports event at Gawadar on November 12 (Saturday) with the support of Pakistan Navy. An official of the PBC Rasheed Baloch said Friday that international boxer Nadir Baloch, in the professional bout, would face challenger Mohammad Rameez in the 56kgs super bantamweight category for the National Challenge Belt. “Besides, there will also be some undercard fights between boxers from Quetta and Gawadar. The opponents in the undercard fights will be decided after their weigh in on the morning of November 12 while the fights will be held in the evening,” he added. He said that all arrangements had been finalised while former Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Malak had been requested to be the chief guest while Commander Shahid Lila, Commanding Officer PNS Akram at Gawadar, would likely to be the guest of honour. Javed Baloch, Sindh vice president, and Durra Khan, Quetta vice president, are looking after the arrangements while financial front is being taken care of by PBC legal advisor Sardar Haleemi. He further said that a permanent set up of boxing ring had been installed at Gawadar now and with the support of Pakistan Navy, the PBC would hold professional fights at the venue more frequently.
