Soomro says electricity load shedding in Larkana unfair

Author: Staff Report

LARKANA: Member of National Assembly (MNA) Ayaz Soomro, who is leader of the Pakistan People’s Party, has criticised the government for what he said “prolonged load-shedding of the electricity in Larkana district of Sindh province.” He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had announced three to four hour schedule for power outages but “our people are forced to bear even 20-hour of load shedding.” He called the extended load shedding hours as unfair. He said that the Pole Mounted Transformers (PMTs) were being removed from the Bhains Colony, Allahabad, Khuda Abad and other areas of Larkana despite the fact that residents have cleared their monthly bills. Due to load shedding, life and trade have been crippled and people were passing their days in miserable conditions, he said. Despite complains submitted by consumers, WAPDA has paid no heed and trying to ignore the directives of the prime minister. He said that the federal government was treating the province unfairly and issues confronting Sindh have been pinpointed in the parliament. He demanded of the federal government to stop being unfair to the province and resolve their issues on priority basis.
