Siraj advises PTI to attend joint session of Parliament

ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Sirajul Haq on Tuesday said that he contacted to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership to convince it for attending the joint session of Parliament.

“I have contacted with Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Jehangir Tareen and asked them to end the boycott and attend the joint session of Parliament on the upcoming visit of Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan,” he said during a press conference here. Other the JI leadership including Mian Muhammad Aslam, Asad Ullah Bhutto, Ameer Punjab Mian Maqsood Ahmed and All Pakistan Traders Alliance President Muhammad Kashif Chaudhry were also present on the occasion.

The JI ameer welcomed the upcoming visit of Turkish president and said that “the visit of Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan to Pakistan will be useful for Pakistan”. He demanded the indiscriminate accountability of those named in Panama papers whether from the government and Opposition.

He said that accountability of those should be also ensured who did corruption during tenure of Pervez Musharraf and Pakistan People’s Party. He said that Aitzaz Ahsan was very much capable lawyer and it was improper by him to be silent spectator on the issue of Panama leaks as he had drafted terms of reference about it. To a question about victory of Donald Trump in US presidential elections, he said that real face of US was before the world after it.
