Overbilling goes on unabated in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Electricity overbilling goes on unabated in Hyderabad. The consumers of Qasimabad Township held a protest in front of press club against power outages and inflated bills issued by HESCO’s new SDO who, according to them, gives no heed to their complains and demands bribe to resolve their genuine issues. Residents complained that the HESCO’s new SDO, Munir Shaikh has started harassing consumers of Qasimabad colony. They said that despite payment of bills, their connections have been disconnected only to extract bribe from them. HESCO officials have pulled down the transformers and was now demanding bribe for installing those again, they said adding that when consumers approach SDO for correction of bills, he is not available and his office is found locked.
