Pakistan killed 11 Indian troops on Nov 14: COAS

KHAIRPUR TAMEWALI: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Wednesday said 11 Indian soldiers were killed on November 14 in response to Indian unprovoked firing. Seven soldiers were martyred on the day in the Bhimber sector of the Line of Control (LoC). “The Indian army should man up and accept their losses,” said the top general. He was talking to reporters at the Presidency. General Raheel added that the army should be credited with exemplary teamwork. “The army has given outstanding results while defending the homeland,” added the general. He also said a message has been conveyed to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that aggressive actions would not bear any results. Earlier, addressing the concluding ceremony of military exercises Raad al Barq (thunder of lightening), he said and no one could cast evil eye on Pakistan. The top general made it clear that Pakistan armed forces were fully capable to defend the motherland. In the exercise area, the military leadership was present while Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, foreign diplomats and defence attaches also witnessed the ceremony. The Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force and Army Aviation showed their war skills and operational capabilities. General Raheel met soldiers and hailed their professional skills and operational preparedness. In an informal chitchat, he said, “We have destroyed the enemy and eliminated the terrorism but it is imperative to sustain the successes.” General Raheel praised the spirit of every participating solider and officer in the joint military exercise and advised them to transfer the skills and knowledge to their juniors.
