San Jose festa celebrates Italian culture

Author:

The 39th annual Italian Family Festa continued on Sunday from 11am to 6pm at History Park in San Jose. This year’s featured guests – the flag throwers and musicians from Italy’s award-winning Gruppo Sbandieratori e Musici del Palio del Niballo – will perform at 1:30 p.m. Later in the afternoon, the Italian-Australian singing sensation Alfio will take the stage. This annual celebration of culture sponsored by the Italian American Heritage Foundation will also feature cooking demonstrations, food booths, cultural exhibits and the always-popular grape-stomping contest. Admission is free. History Park is at 1650 Senter Road, San Jose; find parking, shuttle and trolley details at www.italianfamilyfestasj.org.
