PBC moves SC to stop probe against Justice Isa

Author: inp

The Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) on Wednesday filed a petition in the Supreme Court (SC) to restrain the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) from probing allegations against Justice Qazi Faez Isa. In a petition, the PBC stated that the reference submitted against Justice Isa was based on ‘bad intentions’ because the PTI government was already looking for the arrest of the judge.

“There are 26 other references are submitted in the SJC but the council ‘hastily’ hearing the reference against Justice Isa,” the petition read.

“Government lobbies leaked the news against Justice Isa even before the filing of reference against him which shows the bad intentions of PTI,” it added.

The bar council requested the apex court to declare the investigation against Justice Isa as ‘null and void’.
