Number of people visiting govt-run hospitals on the rise

PESHAWAR: According to District Health Information System (DHIS) report on trend analysis of around 24,714,786 patients in out-patient department (OPD) in Primary and Secondary level health care facilities were carried out since from 2012 to 2016.

According to the DHIS report in secondary health care level facilities in 2012-13 around 5,675,738 OPD were reported while in 2013-14 around 7,317,154 OPD were reported, in 2014 to 2015 around 9,155,414 OPD were reported while in 2015-16 around 12,387,613 OPD were reported. In Primary Health Care facilities around 8,947,628 OPD were reported in 2012-13 while from 2013 to 2014 around 10,521,291 OPD were reported, in 2014 to 2015 around 11,066,645 OPD were reported while in 2015 to 2016 around 12,327,173 OPD were reported across the Province.

Similarly the DHIS report said that Deliveries in Primary and Secondary level health facilities were reported as in Secondary Health Care Facilities from 2012 to 2013 around 68,663 deliveries were reported, in 2013 to 2014, 74,201 deliveries were reported, in 2014 to 2015 around 106,684 deliveries were reported while in 2015 to 2016 around 130,890 deliveries were reported in secondary health care facilities across the province.

In Primary health care facilities from 2012-13 around 59,091 delivers were reported, in 2013 to 2014 around 66,814 delivers were reported while in 2014 to 2015 around 66,693 deliveries were reported while in 2015 to 2016, 55,698 deliverers reported.

In Acute Respiratory Infection diseases in Primary health care facilities from 2012 to 2013 around 1,978,170 OPD were reported while in 2013 to 2014 around 2,390,232 OPD were reported while in 2014 to 2015 around 2,566,091 OPD were reported while from 2015 to 2016 292,64,96 OPD were reported.

Similarly in Basic Health Units from 2012 to 2013 around 1,426,284 deliveries were reported , in 2013-14 around 1,737,066 deliveries were reported while in 2014-15, 1,786,606, while in 2015-16 2003,180 deliveries were reported.

In Primary Health Care System in 2012 to 2013, 1,978,170 deliveries were reported while in 213-14 23, 90,232, in 2014-15 25, 66,091 and in 2015 to 2016, 2,926,496 deliveries were reported in PHCs across the province. In Diarrhea report as in Primary health care facilities from in 2015 to 2016 around 691,949 OPD were reported while in Basic Health Units from 2015 to 2016, 441,571 OPD were reported while in RHC from 2015 to 2016 around 117,330 OPD were reported. The DHIS report said that from 2012 to 2016 people visiting to government health facilities and their numbers were increasing day by day which shows that people were satisfied from the facilities of government available to them.

Cheques distributed among TDPs for livelihood schemes in Bara: Cheques distribution ceremony under the project of Rehabilitation of Temporarily Displaced Persons (TDPs) in Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA) was held here in Jirga hall of Levies center, Shahkas of tehsil Jamrud.

Seven community managed schemes including five pertaining to provision of potable water, one each of irrigation channel and a protection wall would be built in various areas of tehsil Bara of Khyber Agency. Financed by German Development Bank (KFW), the project is being implemented by Sarhad Rural Support Program (SRSP) with the support of the FATA Secretariat and the project would be initiated in South Waziristan Agency, North Waziristan Agency, Orakzai Agency, Khyber Agency and Kurram Agency of the tribal belt.

Khyber Agency Political Agent Khalid Mahmood who was the chief guest while speaking on the occasion assured unconditional support for implementation of the development schemes and stressed upon other donors agencies to join hands with the administration to set up development projects for the TDPs of Bara. He appreciated the efforts of the government of Germany in revising of livelihood in FATA. Programme Manager of Serhad Rural Support Program (SRSP) FATA, Syed Aftab said that after restoring peace in the tribal, SRSP had launched its development projects and so far more than Rs 300 million had been spent on construction of supply of drinking water, building of irrigation channels and others in FATA.

He thanked Pak Army, FATA Secretariat, local communities and political administration for extending cooperation in executing the project. Numbers of tribal elders, administration officials and community representatives were also present on the occasion.
