According to The Hollywood Reporter, the “John Wick” co-helmer has finally sealed the deal with 20th Century Fox to sit behind the lens for the much-awaited sequel to 2015’s “Dead pool” after weeks of negotiations,
David has been selected to replace Tim Miller, who quit the project back in October due to creative differences with actor/co-producer Ryan Reynolds
He will direct the sequel from a screenplay written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who were the scribes of the first movie. As of now, “Dead pool 2” has yet to set a release date.
Leitch’s experience on John Wick makes him a good fit on Dead pool 2 unconfirmed reports hold that Miller and Dead pool star Ryan Reynolds parted ways over the tone and scale of the sequel. Word is Reynolds preferred to stick with the R-rated, lower-budget approach to the first instalment, which was made for $58 million and went on to earn nearly 13 times that amount.
