ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif visited Sulemanki Sector and spent his day with army and rangers troops and war veterans on Saturday.
During interaction, the top general said the Pakistan Army proudly carries its heritage and tradition of soldiering and chivalry. “Taking inspiration from our war heroes and their spirit of sacrifice, Pakistan Army has always measured up to any challenge. With an unprecedented level of successes in war against terror, we have become the most battle-hardened army and are equally ready for conventional war.”
He specially praised the highest state of morale of troops and best form of vigilance along LoC, Working Boundary and international border. The chief also laid a floral wreath at the monument of Major Shabbir Sharif Shaheed (Nishan-e-Haider). “He paid rich tributes to our Shuhada and Ghazis for fighting bravely and rendering supreme sacrifice in defence of the motherland,” the ISPR said in a statement.
Earlier, on arrival at Sulemanki, the top general was received by Lahore Corps Commander Lieutenant General Sadiq Ali, Bahawalpur Corps Commander Lt Gen Javaid Iqbal and Punjab Rangers Director General Maj Gen Umer Farooq Burki.
