HYDERABAD: Police have rescued a woman held captive by his own son after hours to draw an end to the hostage situation, which actually was an outcome of frustration over land ownership issue.
Dr. Ibrahim Almani had held his own children and mother hostage for hours over frustration that his agriculture land in Tando Muhammad Khan was allegedly occupied by Dr. Azeem Almani, a retired secretary health three years ago.
Dr Ibrahim Almani had been trying hard to get his land back but no one helped him out, he complained, adding that he, after having no choice, held his mother and two own children hostage in Sanaullah building, Pakora Stand, Qasimabad.
Many people including Qaumi Awami Tehrik President, Ayaz Latif Palijo tried to pacify him and tried to get the hostages free. But Dr. Almani refused to do so and demanded that he will talk to Russian diplomat
in Pakistan.
Later, SSP Hyderabad, Irfan Ali Baloch reached the spot and tried to talk to him, however, police succeeded in cutting down a iron grill bar of the room where the hostages were kept and arrested him with an assurance that he will be treated fairly and his grievances will be addressed soon.
