LAHORE: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said on Saturday that the enemies of Pakistan were working hard for the failure of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Addressing a seminar organised by the Lahore Chamber of Commerce (LCCI) in collaboration with Pakistan Federation Union of Journalists (PFUJ) at the LCCI auditorium, the NA Speaker said that the CPEC project would bring economic prosperity in the country.

He said that India was intentionally violating the Line of Control (LoC) and the Working Boundary to divert the world’s attention from its brutalities in Indian occupied Kashmir (IOK).

Ayaz hoped that Pakistan would become an economically developed country by 2018. He said that all departments were working hard to strengthen national security and democracy. He urged the media to play its role for the development of the country as it was the main objective of every citizen.

Appreciating the role of the journalist organisations, he said that journalists had played a great role for the country’s development. He said that the journalists should be given life insurances, as no one takes care of their families after their deaths.

Senior journalists Zia Shahid, Arif Nizami, Salman Ghani, former federal minister Qamar Zaman Kaira, LCCI President Abdul Basit and others also addressed the seminar.
