MARSEILLE: In the latest suspected murder linked to a brutal drugs turf war, a partially burned body of a schoolboy, aged around 15, was discovered in Marseille local officials said on Monday.

A passer-by found the corpse in an isolated area on Friday, taking the number of people killed in the area this year to 32.

The teenager, who had been reported missing by his family, had been tied up, shot in the head and chest, and then burned – a method commonly used by gangsters in the city.

“He had no criminal record, but was under investigation for drug dealing by the juvenile investigating magistrate,” local prosecutor Xavier Tarabeux told reporters.
