CJCSC pays farewell call on navy and PAF chiefs

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Rashad Mahmood on Monday paid a farewell call on Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah and Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman separately at naval and air headquarters respectively.

According to a Pakistan Navy spokesman, upon arrival at Naval Headquarters, the dignitary was received by the naval chief. A smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Navy clad in ceremonial dress presented him the guard of honour. The naval chief then introduced the visiting dignitary to the principal staff officers at Naval Headquarters.

Later, General Mahmood called on the naval chief in his office. During the meeting, Admiral Zakaullah acknowledged and commended the remarkable services of General Mahmood during his tenure. He also highlighted the dynamic role played by the chairman in his tenure of service to enhance the operational capabilities of the armed forces, inter services cooperation and transformation into potent and well coherent integrated forces of the region. The admiral also appreciated his long meritorious services for the defence of country and armed forces.

The CJCSC thanked Admiral Zakaullah for the whole-hearted support offered by the Pakistan Navy and expressed his gratitude and well wishes for the naval chief and Pakistan

Later, General Rashad Mahmood paid farewell visit to Air Headquarters, Islamabad. On his arrival a smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Air Force presented him the guard of honour.

Later, he called on Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman in his office.

Talking to the air chief, General Mehmood conveyed his deep satisfaction in the operational readiness of the Pakistan Air Force. He also lauded the role played by the PAF in Operation Zarb-e-Azb. The air chief praised the services rendered by General Mehmood in strengthening the defence of Pakistan and his contributions towards enhancing tri-service synergy.
