ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan army killed six Indian army soldiers on the Line of Control while four Pakistanis died due to unprovoked firing of Indian army at Kerala and other sectors. According to ISPR at line of control on Monday, 4 civilians were killed and 10 were injured .The fallen are as follows: Iltaf s/o Lal Muhammad, vill Jabbar Dheri, Jandrot Sector,Nazia Kausar w/o M. Rasheed, vill Gai Mathrani, Karela Sector Attique s/o Manzoor , vill Baroh, Baroh Sectors, Tassawar s/o Shabbir, vill Baroh, Baroh Sector.

There were reports of heavy casualties of Indian soldiers due to effective retaliatory fire by Pakistani troops. 6 Indian soldiers were confirmed to have been killed, said the ISPR spokesman.

Indian Deputy High Commissioner J.P.Singh on Monday was summoned to the Foreign Office and conveyed Government of Pakistan’s strong condemnation of the unprovoked ceasefire violations by Indian occupation forces on the Line of Control (IoK) in Khuiratta sector. The violation resulted in the death of four children and injuries to two other civilians on November 19.

The Deputy High Commissioner was told that the deliberate targeting of civilian populated areas was highly condemnable, said a press release of the Foreign Office. The Indian side was urged to respect the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding in letter and spirit, to investigate the continued incidents of ceasefire violations, stop targeting the villages and civilians and maintain peace on the LoC.

“The Government of Pakistan also expressed concern over the incident of Indian refusal of diplomatic flight clearance to Pakistani aircraft. This action by the India constituted a violation of the 1991 bilateral agreement between Pakistan and India,” it added.

“It was the heaviest mortar shelling since the morning in the Nakyal sector, which has left two people dead and 10 others wounded, according to initial reports,” Sardar Zeeshan Nisar, assistant commissioner Nakyal, said. Cross-border shelling was also reported from Samahni sector in Bhimber district. Two children, Tasaver and Ateeq, were killed in Baroh village and another three were wounded in the same sector.

Not only were the vulnerable villages in Nakyal tehsil hit, but also those in the neighbouring tehsils of Kotli, Charhoi and Khuiratta in district Kotli by Indian shelling, an official at the Kotli deputy commissioner’s office said. “Fortunately, so far no casualties have been reported from other tehsils,” he said. Residents in different affected areas said that Pakistani troops were responding to Indian shelling.

Continuing skirmishes along the Line of Control have severely hampered relations between Pakistan and India, with the plight of civilians in Indian-occupied Kashmir being the most contentious issue.
