LAHORE: While addressing the Pakistani community lawyers and businessmen in Toronto, Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chairman Tahirul Qadri said that the corrupt people, named in Panama papers, will soon flee from the country and the poor Pakistanis will have to pay the debt.
According to a press release issued by the PAT Media Cell on Tuesday, the PAT chairman said that he warned one year ago that the amount of loans taken by the government would become unbearable for the poor people of Pakistan and today the State Bank of Pakistan confirmed his statement.
He claimed that the country is on the verge of bankruptcy and the people of Pakistan would bear the entire burden. The PAT chief said that the parliament should take strong measures to check the illegal foreign loans taken by these corrupt leaders. Qadri stated that loans up to 60 per cent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) are permitted by the law, but these rulers have exceeded that limit and have taken loans over 68 per cent of the GDP.
