PTI will never come to power: Khurshid Shah

Author: Staff Report

LAHORE: Opposition leader in National Assembly (NA) Khurshid Shah has said he cannot even think PTI will ever come to power. “KP seems to be slipping out of the hands of PTI. I cannot even think PTI will ever come to power,” he boasted. He went on to say there is no haste in politics but all have to be taken along.

He said that all political parties were united on the Panama Leaks issue and an All Parties Conference (APC) was held. It was decided that the Panama Leaks Bill would be presented in the Assembly, but Imran Khan on his own decided to lock down Islamabad.

He claimed that Imran Khan thought politics was child’s play, and accused the de facto opposition leader of dividing the opposition. “Due to Imran Khan’s moves, Nawaz Sharif is gaining strength. Imran Khan has a 40 year old friendship with Chaudhry Nisar. Chaudhry Nisar misguided Imran Khan and he came to the streets,” said Khurshid Shah in a rambling, often contradictory rant.

He then said, incorrectly, that people were quitting PTI to join PPP. He underlined that PTI had appointed Babar Awan as their counsel on credit, and that they were saving Imran Khan. “When PTI workers were being subjected to baton charging, Imran Khan was sitting at home.”
