Drought-hit Thar receives monsoon rain

THARPARKAR: Various parts of Thar Desert continued to receive moderate to light showers with thunderstorm infrequently on Thursday bringing the happiness for Tharis.

Diplo, Nagarparkar, Islamkot, Kaloi, Dahili, Chelhar, Mithi on Thursday received the rains showers, which not only turned the weather pleasant but also revived their hopes of rain-dependent Tharis to get both-livelihood for themselves and fodder for their animals. The peasants started the cultivating their land which got enough rains in two three spells. The towns and villages after the showers remained without power for many hours.
