Pakistan, Iran for more cooperation in defence sector

KARACHI: Pakistan and Iran have stressed the need for further strengthening bilateral cooperation and exchanging experience in defense production industries. Iranian armed forces Deputy Chief of General Staff Brigadier General Mehdi Rabbani called on Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain on the sidelines of International Defence Exhibition and Seminar IDEAS-2016 in Karachi. They discussed ways and means for promoting bilateral cooperation in diverse fields especially defense production. Iranian delegation is participating in defence expo IDEAS- 2016. On the other hand, South Africa’s Deputy Minister for Defence Emmanuel Ramaotana Kebby along with his delegation also called on Rana Tanveer Hussain at the Expo Centre. Both the sides appreciated the existing training cooperation between the two countries and expressed the desire to expand it further. More over, both the countries also stressed on the need for frequent exchange of visits by the technicians in order to identify more areas of cooperation.
