ISLAMABAD: Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah on Thursday said Pakistan did not want war but it looked like the Indian leadership did because they wanted to destroy the peace of the region. Over a point of order in the National Assembly, Khurshid Shah said India was continuing ceasefire violations and killing Pakistani soldiers and innocent civilians along the Line of Control to divert attention from its atrocities and barbarism in Indian Occupied Kashmir.

He termed the unprovoked Indian firing and shelling on LoC and working boundary an aggression. He stressed the need for giving a befitting response to the Indian aggression on the border and accelerating the efforts to highlight Indian atrocities in Indian Occupied Kashmir and ceasefire violations by the Indian forces.

Responding to points raised by Leader of the Opposition Syed Khurshid Shah, Minister for States and Frontier Regions Abdul Qadir Baloch assured the House that India would inconceivably harm itself if it ever tried to commit aggression against Pakistan. He said a tit for tat reply would be given to any action by the Indian forces.

The Minister said Pakistan’s armed forces were not weak in any manner as compared to India. He said Pakistani armed forces deployed along Line of Control were not sitting silent and were giving a befitting response to Indian unprovoked firing along LoC and Working Boundary and India was suffering more losses than Pakistan. However, he said Indian forces were killing innocent civilians in violation of all international norms. He said Pakistani forces never targeted civilians on other side of the LoC.

Abdul Qadir Baloch said the government was making all out efforts to highlight Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir and unprovoked firing by the Indian forces along LoC. He said these efforts would be further accelerated.
