LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari contacted the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) stalwart and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif via Twitter, a microblogging social networking forum, on Thursday. In his tweet on Thursday morning, Bilawal expressed concern over the poor health of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and also prayed for his early recovery with best wishes for the his long life. Responding to the tweet of his young political rival, who is also working hard to regain his party’s political strength in Punjab, Shahbaz immediately thanked Bilawal for wishing well for him and praying for recovery. Political pundits are taking this contact between two main rival parties as a significant move as far as future politics in Punjab is concerned. They said that this ‘masterstroke’ by Bilawal would certainly benefit PPP in Punjab, adding that such steps would not only prove his political maturity, but would also favour his party before the next general elections. It is pertinent to mention that the chief minister had experienced discomfort in his chest after an address to Health Ministry officials in the provincial capital on Wednesday. He was immediately taken to Ittefaq Hospital for evaluation. The CM had to undergo a series of tests for proper diagnosis and subsequent treatment. Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Punjab government said that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was in good health and his medical tests were normal.
