Women parliamentarians get a gym

ISLAMABAD: The dream of women parliamentarians dream came true on Thursday when the acting Speaker National Assembly inaugurated a special gym for them at the Parliament Lodges so that these ladies parliamentarians could made them fitter and smarter. Sources told Daily Times that women parliamentarians were demanding of the Speaker National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, time and again for a special gym for themselves. The Speaker directed the CDA to establish gym for women and in the first time in the history of the parliament that a specific gym has been established for women legislators. Even the Minister for State for Information Marriam Aurangzeb was very much keen about the gym On Thursday, the acting Speaker National Assembly Murtaza Javed Abbasi inaugurated a gym for women parliamentarian at the Parliament Lodges. The Minister for State of Information and Broadcasting, Maryum Aurangzeb, women parliamentarians and senior officers of the National Assembly and the CDA were also present on the occasion. Appreciating the performance of women parliamentarians, the Acting Speaker said that women law-makers were playing an affirmative and commendable role in the Parliament. He said that due to security reasons and other engagements, the Parliamentarians could not avail the opportunity to take part in physical activities. He said that with the set up of the gym not only the women parliamentarians but female members of the families of the male parliamentarians can also benefits from it.
