It is dedicated to Ashfaq Ahmad, Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi, Mushtaq Ahmad Yousufi, Munir Niazi, Munnu Bhai, Mashkoor Hussain Yaad, Shahzad Ahmad, Shuhrat Bukhari and Aslam Kolsri whose interviews are included in this book but they are no more now. A couplet ‘Aik Ik Kar Kei Sitaron Ki Tarah Doob Gaye/Haye Kaya Log Mere Halqa-e-Ehbaab Main Thei’ (One by one many stars fell who were among the fraternity of my friends) has been quoted which is very apt for this situation. This book contains practically most of the famous names but this reviewer did find some lesser but deserving ones also.
Ahmad Adnan Tariq was born in 1963. His mother had done her Masters and taught in Tandaliawala. His father was Excise and Taxation Officer. His mother used to buy novels from Feroze Sons and books for children also. So Tariq had an access to these books and he became fond of reading from his childhood. On his mother’s demise his juvenile age ended and he moved to Faisalabad from where he completed his studies. After his Masters he joined police service and completed his LLB during his job. He wrote 14 books for children and on poetry. Another intellectual is Dr Hassan Mubarak from Faisalabad. Psychologically he felt that changing the name of his city of Lyallpur to Faisalabad deprived him of the cultural and historical heritage of the city. His poetry collection ‘Naye Dinon Kei Khwaab’ was instrumental in giving him exposure to public. In 2011 his second selection appeared titled ‘Tanha Rehna Seekh Liya Hei’. Apart from poetry, his travelogues were appreciated as well.
The book is dedicated to Ashfaq Ahmad, Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi, Mushtaq Ahmad Yousufi, Munir Niazi, Munnu Bhai, Mashkoor Hussain Yaad, Shahzad Ahmad, Shuhrat Bukhari and Aslam Kolsri whose past interviews are included
