Famous inventors who regretted their inventions

Scientists have provided many great inventions to the world, but many such inventors also expressed strong regret over creating them because these are often misused as well. Albert Einstein was the director of the Manhattan Project during World War II and was preparing to make nuclear bombs. According to Einstein’s recommendation, President Franklin de Roosevelt convened a board to investigate the possibility of using a nuclear chain reaction as an atom bomb. The Oppenheimer directed the Manhattan Project, which produced the first nuclear bomb in the desert outside of Algorithm, New Mexico. The atomic experience was successful due to Robert Oppenheimer and Albert Einstein. Later, both of them expressed regret over the invention of the nuclear bomb. It is said that the Oppenheimer said a phrase taken from Bhagavad Gita, “Now I become Death, to destroy the world.”

Who does not know of the AK-47 or the Kalashnikov? During the Second World War, Soviet engineer Mikhail Kalashnikov had developed it. When he made a rifle, he never thought that it would be the most popular weapon for the gang owners, terrorists and the dictators to choose. He also regretted his invention in his long life several times. One year before 2013, at the age of 94, the inventor wrote a tortured letter to the head of the church. As reported by Izvestia, in newspaper Kalashnikov emphasised that his “spiritual pain is unbearable”.

Kamran Loghman is the inventor of weapon-grade pepper spray technology to enforce the law. Loghman was working for the FBI in the 80’s decade and he supported pepper spray as a weapon. He also wrote a guide to police use pepper spray. Pepper spray now uses police in many countries of the world but Loghman has often expressed grief on the ‘unusual’ use of this chemical matter. The recent misuse of their products, particularly police made them sorry for the first place. You must surprise the world that the misuse of weapons cannot be predicted, especially after the failure of several weapons behind negative disadvantages. It must be good to live in such a world!
