Elderly man killed in hit-and-run

RAWALPINDI: An elderly man was killed in a hit-and-run incident within the Saddar Bahrohni Police precinct on Thursday. Khurram Khursheed, a resident of Saddar Bahrohni, lodged a complaint with local police, stating that his father Khursheed was crossing a road when he was hit by a tractor-trolley. He died on the spot.

The body was shifted to local hospital for post-mortem examination. Police have registered a case and started investigation.

Student killed: A grade 10 student was shot dead in Rawalpindi on Thursday. Abrar Hussain, father of the victim, told Saddar Bairooni Police that accused Ryafat and Kamran had invited his son Zain to their house where they later shot him dead. Police have registered a case and started an investigation.

Traffic accident: A two-month-old child died in a traffic accident in Airport Police precinct on Thursday.

According to police, a woman, who carried her child, was walking alongside a road. “A van hit both them. The child later died due to her injuries,” police said.

Vehicles stolen: Three vehicles were stolen from Rawalpindi on Thursday. Hameed told police that his car (FD 257) was stolen from outside his house. The vehicle of Naveed Amir was stolen from Waris Khan Police precincts. Qaiser Rasheed’s car (LZU 1171) was stolen from Sadiqabad Police precincts.
