JI congratulates new COAS

LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer, Senator Sirajul Haq congratulated Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa – the new Chief of Army Staff (COAS) – and Gen Zubair Hayat – Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman – on their new appointments.

In a statement, he said that the entire nation and the JI were with the new leadership of the army and we wish them good luck.

He expressed the hope that the armed forces would continue to wipe out terrorism and the mission to restore peace in Karachi, while combating the challenges from India.

In his statement, JI Secretary-General Liaqat Baloch welcomed Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa and said that it was highly encouraging that an army chief was departing with grace and the new one was taking his responsibilities under the law.

He expressed the hope that the new army chief would raise the image of the armed forces like Gen Raheel Sharif and play a leading role for the country’s protection.
