KARACHI: Sindh High Court has directed the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) to pay salaries to 261 employees of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), stated an order that Daily Times acquired on Saturday.
The order further asked KDA to continue issuing salaries until the matter is decided and if the verdict comes in favor of KDA, court will ensure that it gets back the money.
It is worth mentioning that KDA had stopped the salaries of 261 employees of KMC in July 2016 after its revival and these employees were sent back to KMC. The salaries of 700 employees of Malir Development Authority, Lyari Development Authority, Karachi Development Authority, KMC and the employees of Karachi Commissioner and deputy commissioner offices, have also been stopped by their concerned departments.
