FR DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Unknown men kidnapped seven officials of an oil and gas company on Saturday from the tribal areas. The men, locals working for a Polish firm, were kidnapped from the border of South Waziristan and Frontier Region Dera Ismail Khan, along with three cars.

The kidnappers have not made any demands or revealed their identity. However, political agent of the area is using his men to recover the hostages. The area where the officials have been kidnapped falls under the jurisdiction of the Federally Administer Tribal Areas (FATA).

In March this year, seven government officials were kidnapped from FATA and released two months later. Pakistan has had its share of high profile kidnappings with Shahbaz Taseer, son of former Punjab governor, and Ali Haider Gilani, son of former prime minister of Pakistan, topping the list. Both of them were released by their Taliban kidnappers this year.
