Brawl over petty issue claims old man’s life

Islamabad: Three persons bludgeoned an old man to death over a petty issue within Golra police jurisdiction on November 27th.

Sajidha Bibi, daughter of deceased lodged a complaint to local police stating that her father Muhammad Riaz, while on his way back home was intercepted by Muhammad Sohail, a resident of same locality. The two ended up exchanging bitter remarks over a petty issue. According to the daughter’s testimony, the accused later called up two other accomplices and severely injured her father.

Muhammad Riaz was beaten to death on spot while assailants fled the scene, she added. The body has been shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences for an autopsy report. The police have registered a case and initiated investigation procedures.
