PESHAWAR: Shahid Khan Shinwari and Rehmat Gul Afridi on Sunday were elected as President and Secretary General of the FATA Olympic Association respectively, for the next term of four years, in an election meeting held under the aegis of the Pakistan Olympic Association. Nominated by the President Pakistan Olympic Association Lt Gen (r) Syed Arif Hassan, Syed Iqbal Khan acted as Chairman Election Commission with former hockey Olympian Manzoor-ul-Hassan and POA Secretary General Khalid Mehmood as observers. A nominee of the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs FATA, Hayat-u-Zaman, representatives from various sports associations affiliated with the FATA Olympic Association attended the meeting held in a local hotel here. The election was held in cordial atmosphere with former Sports Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Vice President Pakistan Olympic Association Syed Aqil Shah, Secretary Pakistan Archery Federation Wisal Muhammad, President KP Snooker Association Zulfiqar Butt also attending the meeting as guests.
