The JCP will consider the appointment of five additional judges in the Peshawar High Court (PHC).

PHC Chief Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel had sent names of two judges and three lawyers to the commission for review. They included judges Muhammad Bashir, Ayub Marwat and lawyers Umer Farooq, Muzammal Khan and Mian Hussain.

The Law Ministry will issue the notification after the approval.

The JCP, after the 18th constitutional amendment, was formed under the aforementioned article. The commission is chaired by the CJP and consists of the law minister, four senior-most judges, the attorney general of Pakistan, a retired judge and a representative of the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC).
