NAB seeks land record

ISLAMABAD: The NAB has sought land record from CDA in investigation of alleged corruption worth billions against Deputy Speaker National Assembly Murtaza Javed Abbasi.

The Deputy Speaker NA is accused of misuse of powers in allotment of some 200 plots in various sectors of Islamabad. Amir Shahzad, an official of the civic agency has already expressed his willingness to become a witness against him in NAB.

The NAB had received an application against the deputy speaker.

Sources said the NAB authorities have sought land record from the civic agency regarding allotment of plots and also decided to record the statements of the official concerned of the land department of the civic agency. “In the light of statements of the officials, the investigation against deputy speaker and his front man Umair Abbas would be further preceded.” sources said.
