ISLAMABAD: The Registrar Cooperative has issued notices under Clause 48 to office bearers of the Civilian Employees Cooperative Housing Society (Swan Garden) after the massive financial irregularities running into billion of rupees surfaced.
The registrar has asked from them through notice to explain their position as to why thr allotment of plots were made despite the court orders and why the residential plots were transformed into commercial plots without bringing them into knowledge of the Cooperative Registrar.
Following complaints inflows from affected ones and media reports against office bearers of this housing society, the Registrar cooperative Islamabad Muhammad Ali has sought explanation from the president of the society Ansar Gondal and general secretary Yasir Mehdi, under section 48 that as to why precious plots valuing billion of rupees were allotted in defiance of court’s orders by abusing their powers.
Most of these plots have been sold.
The president and the general secretary of the society are charged with allotting 50 valuable plots to favourites in November 2015 which are stated to be carrying the value of billion of rupees.
It was incumbent upon them to inform the CDA and registrar cooperative before allotting these plots but the office bearers of society concealed the allotment process deliberately. On the other hand court had also barred them from making any allotment.
The president and the general secretary of the society were suspended in the beginning of this month in the wake of growing complaints from the affected and levelling of charges by the president and general secretary of the society against each other.
But later these two obtained a stay order from the court and unleashed a loot and plunder spree by embarking upon deceitful business of allotment of plots.
The media brought to into light this scam and following this development the Registrar cooperatives Islamabad, Muhammad Ali, sought a reply from them over the series of irregularities on November 25, 2016.
It was told to the registrar cooperative by society that president Ansar Gondal had left for Dubai on an important visit.
According to information available with “Online” Ansar Gondal is allegedly trying to purchase a hotel in Dubai and is on the way to siphon off money to off shore accounts plundered by him from society through corrupt practices.
The case will now come up for hearing before registrar cooperatives Muhammad Ali on November 29.
It is pertinent to mention here that Asghar Gondal had levelled charges of billions of rupees corruption against general secretary Yasir Mehdi and the latter provided to registrar cooperatives the documentary evidence of corruption committed by Asghar Gondal and requested the registrar to take action against the president of the society.
