The parents, then, informed C-section police station and met with Sukkur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Irfan Samo. According to details, two cousins, Liaqat Ali Malik and Gulzar Malik of Dadu canal and Bachal Miani had gone missing a month earlier. Their abduction was confirmed after 15 days when bandits demanded Rs 3 million ransom for their release. A week later, the kidnapper lowered the ransom to Rs 1 million and threatened the parents that failure to comply with their demands would result in the loss of their boys. The police also confirmed their abduction and the ransom demand through technical support.
