KARACHI: Sindh Assembly had a noisy session on Monday as government and opposition members kept criticizing each other for bad governance.

The Opposition leader commented that the provincial minister for local government is not capable to run his department, while the minister held Muttahida Qaumi movement responsible for all the misdoings of the former provincial governments.

The session started under the supervision of speaker Agha Siraj Durrani. Member Pakistan Tahrik-i-Insaf (PTI) Khurram Sher Zaman presented an adjourned motion seeking issuance of the funds to Karachi Metropolitan which was rejected which led to a heated debate between Nisar Khuhro and PTI member Zaman.

“If the provincial government had been providing funds to Karachi Municipal Corporation the city would not have been turned into the scorns of garbage, the government should immediately allocate funds for the provision of basic facilities to the citizens of Karachi” the motion stated.

Khuhro expressed his anger over the motion and termed it as a tactics to defame the provincial government.

“Heroism may takes its place, but this bill is aimed at to degrade the Sindh government” he lambasted.

The session also observed hot conversation between Minister Local government Jam Khan Shoro and opposition leader Khuwaja Izaharul Hassan over the current situation of the local bodies and powers of the Mayor of Karachi.

“China cutting still exists, and many plots are still been sold through ‘China Cutting’ but local government minister is unaware about it ” Hassan charged.

While Shoro criticized MQM and alleged that the were the pioneers of all wrong doings .

“Hundreds of the fake appointments had been made in the Karachi Development Authority, KMC and other institutions, why did the MQM not rectify these faults during their tenure” he questioned.

After the heated arguments of the members with each other the speaker put off the session till an unspecified period.

While talking with media in the premises of the Sindh Assembly, MQM leader Khuwaja Izharul Hassan while referring to the agreement between Sindh government and a Chinese firm for collection of garbage in Karachi, said that why has Sindh government not handed over the control of entire province to China.

Sindh Local Government Minister Jam Khan Shoro is not capable of running the province. “Perhaps, Chinese should start governing Sindh.” Izhar added.
