Author: Daily Times

Sir: Through your esteemed newspaper I would like to draw the kind attention of concerned authorities towards the vanishing greenery around Airport road, Larkana.

Planting trees on the roadside are beneficial as heeding leaves not only comfort pedestrians and travellers, but also play pivotal role in the stability of environment. For instances, roadside trees give shade and act as umbrella during rainy season, serve as bus shelter and prevent roads from erosion and protect side bund.

On the other hand, roadside plantation is helpful for the environment. It reduces dust particles and provides pure and clean oxygen to the surroundings. Besides, it is a way forward of minimizing greenhouse effect, it also a shelter and food for birds and animals.

So, it is the responsibility of forestry department and every individual to plant trees on the roadside to keep the environment clean and make the earth livable.
