SHC grants bail to seminary teacher

Author: PPI

The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday granted bail to a seminary teacher booked for allegedly sexually assaulting his female students. A two-member bench of SHC, headed by Justice Naimtullah Phulputo, heard the bail of Madarsa teacher, Muhammad Aalam, and granted him bail against the surety of Rs0.2 million. The bench also directed the trial court to announce its verdict within two months. Muhammad Irfan, the counsel of Aalam, argued that 14 years ago, a resident of Korangi, Shah Alim, had registered a case against Madarsah teacher and stated that his daughter and other students of the Madarsah were sexually assaulted by their teacher. He argued that after hearing the case, the trial court had dismissed the bail plea of his client.
