Nephew of secretary to PM goes unruly at private party

ISLAMABAD: The nephew of Fawad Ahmad Fawad, the Secretary to Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif is reported to have paraded hooliganism by barging into a birthday party in a bungalow located at F-7/2 Islamabad. He is reported to have done this with his accomplices even thrashed his two youngsters mercilessly.

Following the registration of the case the police on the intervention of a senior bureaucrat has started harassing the complainant and forcing him to withdraw the case rather than apprehending the culprits.

Sources told Daily Times that the birthday of one Changez Khan was being celebrated on November 25 night at House No 13-A Street No 16, F-7/2, in the jurisdiction of Kohsar Police and all the friends and relatives of Changez Khan were gathered at the function.

In the meantime five armed youngsters identified as Umar Hassan, Ammad Khan, Ahmad Hayat and Osama Raja etc barged into the house. As soon as they stepped in the house they started ransacking it.

The attackers hit the head of one Ammar Alam with the pistol butt and inflicted serious injuries on his head. The mother of one Sher Ali Gauhar Tareen was injured with the rifle butt. His nose received serious injuries. They also smashed the panes of the new model Corolla car No 962.

Kohsar Police registered a case in respect of this incident under No 416/2016 in the offence under Criminal Section 148/149 and 427/452. But the police instead of nabbing the culprits, started harassing the complainant, Ammar Alamgir and his family members and started forcing them to withdraw the case.

Sources said that one among the attackers Umar Hasan is nephew of Fawad Hasan Fawad, the Secretary to PM Nawaz Sharif and the accused persons have geared up efforts to pressurise the applicant through the police high command to withdraw the case.

When contacted, the investigation officer of the case ASI Muhammad Khan, told Daily Times that the police were making all out efforts to arrest the culprits.

The police had gone to the houses of the accused including Ammad Khan and Osama Raja at the prescribed addresses but they have not been arrested so far. The home addresses of other culprits are not available with the police.

To a question he said it was not in his knowledge that the accused Omar Hasan was the nephew of Fawad Ahmad Fawad, the Secretary to the PM.
