Five new Judges of SHC take oath

KARACHI: Five newly appointed additional judges of the Sindh High Court (SHC) took oath on Wednesday taking the total number of judges to 39.

SHC Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah administered the oath to the additional judges in a ceremony held at the main SHC building.

The sown-in judges included Fahim Ahmed Siddiqui, Khadim Hussain Tunio, Omar Sial, Adnan-ul-Karim Memon and Yousuf Ali Sayeed. Besides, Justice Ahmed Ali M. Shaikh, the most senior judge after the chief justice, and other SHC judges, the ceremony was attended by the office bearers of the bar council and bar associations, and a large number of lawyers. The case was registered against the Section 395 (punishment for dacoity), 302 (premeditated murder), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapons), 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object), 109 (punishment for abetment), 337(punishment for hurt by rash or negligence act) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
