ISLAMABAD: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Zubair Hayat on Wednesday praised the role of Pakistan Air Force in national defence.
He said this during his visit to the air and naval headquarters after assuming the charge of his office.
On his arrival at PAF Headquarters he was received by Chief of the Air Staff Sohail Aman. Afterwards smartly turned out contingent of PAF presented him guard of honour. He also laid a floral wreath at the martyrs’ monument to pay homage to the PAF martyrs. He was introduced to principal staff officers, PAF spokesman said.
Later on, General Hayat called on Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman in his office. Both the dignitaries remained together for some time and discussed matters of professional interest. He lauded PAF’s role in the ongoing Operation Zarb-e-Azb and praised the sound professionalism of PAF personnel. He also expressed his satisfaction on the combat readiness of PAF and the progress made in various ongoing modernisation/upgrading programmes. Later, at the Naval Headquarters he was received by Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Zakaullah. A smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Navy presented guard of honour to him.
Later, General Hayat met the naval chief and discussed the professional and operational matters of Pakistan Navy. He was briefed on the role of navy in security and operational preparedness in Indian Ocean.
