YDA gives seven days to KP govt to fulfil their demands

PESHAWAR: Young Doctors Association (YDA) held a convention on Wednesday at Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar and gives seven days ultimatum to the provincial government for their demands.

Around three thousands young doctors from all over the province gathered at LRH hospital and give threat to the provincial government that if they not solve their problems and demands then they will start their agitation against the government and then the government will face all the consequences.

Talking to Daily Times Dr. Muhammad Faisal Khan Ex- Chairman YDA said that the main aims of their convention are to “Save profession, Save Patient Care”.

He said that in the Medical Teaching Institution (MTI) act there were some flaws as before the MTI act the patients were gets 70 per cent medicines but now the patients purchase all their medicines from open market.

He added that recently again the provincial government send a letter to Post Graduate Medical Institute and wants to closed down the institute , adding that LRH is affiliated with the PGMI and if PGMI will closed down then who will recognized the doctors working in LRH and other hospital as well.

He further said that the government has agreed and the Chief Minister itself announce service structure for the doctors while health professional allowance were also announce but more than two years has been spend to that announcement but no implantation were did by the government.

He inform that the government wants to privatized all the hospital including LRH that they can generate their income, adding that this act will suffer that patients as already while KP people were so poor and would not bared the huge expenses of doctors and medicines.

Dr Amjid YDA president while talking with Daily Times said that the provincial government claim that they improve the health system in the province but infect the health system is totally failed, adding that they recently conducted a survey and most of senior doctors of KP were of the view that after the MTI act the health service in public hospitals became worse.

He informs that LRH has underground laboratory and there is no examples in any intervention health care system where laboratories were under ground and all of its result of LRH laboratories were wrong and not hundred percent result.

He added that PGMI is working for the last 32 years in KP and were provided quality of practical teaching to the doctors but now the government wants to close down the institute, adding that the doctors community will never allowed the government to close down the PGMI institute.

He lamented that today more than 3000 doctors gathered in LRH hospital, adding and giving threats that they give seven days ultimatum to the provincial government to fulfill all their demands otherwise face the music.
