A Beautiful Mind is one of the best motivational books to have ever been written. A beautiful mind is the book which is written by a well known American journalist Sylvia Nasar who is a professor at Columbia University. It has written in English language and it has been translated into 30 languages. The writer Sylvia Nasar received the national book award for a beautiful mind book. It was the bestseller book in New York.

This book is based on the life of late mathematician John Nash. The book discussed about how John Nash suffered from mental disorder, how he won Nobel price and many more. John Nash was a silent and longness person from his childhood. He did not keep friends, he never played with kids and he was completely different from other children. He spent his childhood without enjoyment. From his childhood he followed his footsteps of his father work to be an engineer. He was able enough student in the class and teachers were convinced by the work of him.

However, when he completed his education from that place, he received a scholarship and went abroad for higher education at Princeton University where he met his roommate. He was the only one who ever got close to him and became his best friend. His name was Charles. John Nash was not aware that he was suffering from schizophrenia. At the same time he continued his genius work in games as being a mathematician. However John Nash considered that his friend Charles was just and only part if his mental illness. Whatever Charles told him they were happening with him as he considered. He saw some other persons those didn’t exist in the world. When he got a job as a teacher that time he was arrested by USA government. The USA government told that they had received a letter from him after they left him because of his mental health.

Later he went to psychiatric hospital for his treatment. After sometimes he came back to his job because he didn’t want to destroy his career. That was the reason that his treatment was failed. When he started teaching, he met a woman named Alicia. They both got married. They were spending a happy life but at same time his strange behaviour was again started in front of his wife and students. His wife forced him to join psychiatric hospital but Nash didn’t agree. John Nash thought that he was fine and nothing went wrong with him and they were not understanding him. John considered him a normal person and he made a small room beside of his home and he started living there.

Many time, he hurt his wife a lot as he used to put his baby into tub. He did many wrong activities which forced his wife to leave him because they were not feeling comfortable with him but she never left him alone. Alicia forced him but he didn’t agree. John Nash himself noticed that the one who he would see they were not being old especially Charles but he himself was being old. Then he realized that something was wrong with him and they didn’t exist in the world.

With the help of his wife, he went to psychiatric hospital for the treatment. Alicia used to visit that place also told other friends and family member to visit him. After sometimes, he came back then he was much better and he could see a lot of changes in him. He tried his level best to ignore those persons who reality didn’t exist. With the long time better with paranoid schizophrenia at the end of his life.

A Beautiful Mind must be read by those who are frustrated, depressed or suffering from mental illnesses. It also convinces the reader to read more books. The author of A Beautiful Mind is a journalist and a professor at Colombia University and this book of hers is a best seller. She won many national book critics awards for this biography of Nash.

It inspired the 2001 film by the same name.
