CHITRAL: Prime Minister Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan got stuck due to the Glacier Lake outburst flood in the Golan Gol area of Chitral on Monday.

The Disaster Management and Rescue divisions have reached the zone. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Chitral said that Pak Army has been requested to provide a helicopter to rescue Aleema Khan.

Meanwhile, a helicopter was summoned to Chitral on Monday to rescue Prime Minister Imran Khan’s sister Aleema. But Aleema Khan says she won’t be evacuated until other tourists and residents are first.

People fled their homes and climbed the mountains after the flood hit their villages.

DC Chitral said that communication lines are also down because of the floods.

The rescue teams and local administration continue with the rescue and relief work to avoid loss of life and further damages to property.

The local administration and Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) distributed food items and other necessary materials to the victims of the low-intensity flood that hit the houses located near the Nullah or streams.
