Dacoits torture four LHVs at BHU Nankana

Author: Hassan Murtaza Khan

Two on-duty lady health visitors (LHVs) have faced brutal torture at the hands of four unidentified armed dacoits at the Basic Health Unit (BHU) of Nankana Sahib.

Reportedly, four unidentified armed dacoits forced their entry into BHU Nankana Sahib and held watchman Niaz Ahmad and gunman Jaffar hostage by tying them with ropes. Later, the two dacoits entered the labour room where they tied up, tortured and misbehaved with two LHVs.

A case was registered at Mangtanwala Police Station without progress and at one stage SP Investigations Khalida Parveen made attempts to stop the victims from talk to journalists. The police officers also actively attempted to stop media personnel from covering the unfortunate scenes. However, after protests against the incident at the DHQ Hospital Nankana, DPO Nankana Sahib took notice and up to 25 suspects have been arrested.
